About the 23rd Annual Big Apple Tournament
The Big Apple Marching Band Tournament is in its 23rd consecutive season and serves as a host of many outstanding marching band programs. Traditionally the Big Apple is scheduled on the last Saturday of October prior to the TOB Chapter Championship weekend. The Apple Tournament uses the beauty of the autmun season as its theme. This tournament serves as a large fundraiser opportunity and is sponsored by the Musselman Band Boosters Incorporated. Waldeck Field serves as the venue for the tournament and is one of the best playing fields in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia.
The Big Apple Tournament serves as a (TOB) or Tournament of Bands competition. Judges from the "NJA" or the National Judges Association follows the rubiric designed for the TOB circuit.
